Make Time for Your Highlight — Part 4.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:13 (KJV).
The best time management tool is one essential and straightforward tool that costs nothing, yet we don't use it enough either because we are ignorant or too nice. I want to share the secret with you. Wait a minute. Is it a secret, or have you never thought of it? I don't think it is a secret. The truth is you have never paid attention to it this way; that is being a time management tool. The tool is to be brave enough to know when to say 'No.' Often, you say 'Yes' when you really want to say 'No', and at the end, you end up feeling guilty. You blame yourself for wasting valuable time.
When you don't know how to say 'No', you are living proof of someone who has poor time management skills. You waste your time and the time of the people asking you for something you are not willing to commit to, but you say 'Yes' because you are worried about what people will say. You become overwhelmed and stressed when you accept projects that you don't have the time to accomplish. You won't give it your best. You say 'Yes' when you want to say 'No' because you don't know the value of your time. You don't have the proper sense of the time.
The word 'No' is magical. A variation is 'Not Now.' If you find it difficult to say 'No', then 'Not Now' should be your replacement. Yes," has all possibilities, joy and positivity associated with it. "Yes" is about Dreams, the Future and Making AWESOME Stuff happen. So we all like saying 'Yes.' You might have been trained not to say 'No', and now you understand the power of 'No.' Saying 'No' is not selfish or rude. It is empowering and essential for managing your time effectively.
Yes and no are two concise words, yet they convey the most important information many living beings can receive, on one level regulating their organic functions on another, their behaviour, and ultimately, their survival.
Saying 'no' is not selfish or rude, but it is empowering and essential for your time management, productivity, physical and mental health.
