"The Abundance of the Free Favour of the Lord." Luke 4:18-19

Hi Visitor,
Storms often reveal what calm seasons can hide. In Matthew 8:23–27, the disciples learned that fear rises quickly when control is lost, but they also learned that peace is possible when Jesus is present. High waves expose the true condition of your trust. They show you where fear has been leading and where faith needs strengthening. Storms do not only challenge you, they teach you.
The wilderness taught Israel dependence, discipline, and direction. It revealed what faith looked like daily, not occasionally. In the same way, storms teach you to focus, to pray honestly, and to stop leaning on your own strength. They sharpen your awareness and correct your priorities. They also expose what cannot save you and point you back to what truly sustains you when life becomes uncertain.
Today, do not waste your storm. Let it refine you. Identify what the waves are teaching you about your thinking, your habits, and your trust. Allow the pressure to build wisdom instead of bitterness. The storm will pass, but the lesson can remain. If you learn well, you will come out stronger, calmer, and more grounded than before. The waves may be high, but growth can be higher.

You may be tired of pressure and want the storm to end quickly. The right response is to seek the lesson while enduring the season, allowing growth to develop even before relief arrives.
Write down one lesson this storm is teaching you. Then choose one practical change you will implement today as a response to what you have learned.
What has your current storm revealed about your fears, your focus, and your trust? What lesson can strengthen your life if you apply it consistently?
"Storms expose what calm can hide. If you learn the lesson while the waves are high, you will walk out stronger than you entered."

Lord, help me to learn what I need to learn in this storm. Strengthen my heart to endure with wisdom, not bitterness. Give me clarity to recognise what must change and courage to apply what will make me stronger. Let growth rise in me even before the waves settle. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
