"The Abundance of the Free Favour of the Lord." Luke 4:18-19

Hi Visitor,
Fluctuations can trigger self-condemnation. When you feel low again, you may think you have failed or that you are going backwards. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds you that seasons exist and timing exists. A difficult day does not cancel progress. A tough season does not mean God has left you. Condemnation adds shame to pain, and shame increases isolation. Wisdom rejects condemnation and chooses honest, disciplined response.
Condemnation often sounds like harsh inner language. “I should be over this.” “I am weak.” “Nothing will change.” These thoughts intensify distress and reduce motivation. You must replace them with truth. You are in a season, not a sentence. You are experiencing fluctuation, not permanent defeat. God is with you in every season, and your job is to respond with faith and wisdom, not self-hatred. Recovery is rarely a straight line. It is often a pattern of learning, adjustment, and strengthening.
Today, practise self-compassion without excuses. Acknowledge what you feel, then choose your next step. Rest if you need rest. Reach out if you need support. Adjust your routine if you need structure. Pray and speak truth to your mind. Do not condemn yourself for needing time. Condemnation does not heal. Wisdom heals. Faith heals. Consistent response heals.
You may judge yourself harshly when you struggle again, and that shame makes you withdraw. Respond by rejecting condemnation today. Accept the season, speak truth, and choose one wise support step.
Write one condemning thought you have been believing. Replace it with a truth statement and read it aloud three times today. Then do one caring action that supports stability, such as rest or reaching out.
What condemning thought repeats in my mind?
What season am I in right now?
What truth will I speak over myself today?
What wise step will I take instead of withdrawing?
How will I respond when shame tries to return?
“Condemnation adds shame to pain and delays healing. Seasons fluctuate, but God remains. Reject harsh self-talk, accept the season with wisdom, and take the next right step. Progress continues through disciplined compassion.”
