Healthy Conflict Resolution| Part 1
The Sure Word Devotion
Day 1: Anger Needs Control
Anger is a real emotion, but it must never be allowed to control the marriage. In conflict, anger can rise quickly when someone feels unheard, disrespected, disappointed, or misunderstood. The issue is not simply that anger appears. The danger is what anger does when it takes charge of the heart, the mouth, and the atmosphere of the home.
Healthy conflict resolution begins with self-control. Anger must be managed before words become weapons. A raised voice, harsh tone, silent punishment, insults, or emotional withdrawal can turn a small disagreement into a deep wound. Love does not deny frustration, but love refuses to let frustration become destruction. A mature spouse learns to pause, breathe, pray, and respond with wisdom.
Today, recognise anger early. Do not wait until it has already shaped your words. When tension rises, slow down. Ask yourself what you are really feeling and what outcome you truly want. The goal is not to win an argument, but to protect the marriage. Controlled anger can lead to honest conversation. Uncontrolled anger can damage trust. Choose peace before pressure becomes sin.
