Recognising Early Warning Signs. Part 7
The Sure Word Devotion
Day 7: Build a Safety Plan
A safety plan is wisdom in writing. It gives you clear steps to follow when warning signs appear and pressure begins to rise. Proverbs 27:12 teaches prudence, and prudence prepares before danger grows. A safety plan does not mean you expect failure. It means you respect your mental health enough to prepare for difficult moments with structure, support, and calm action.
A good safety plan includes your early warning signs, your triggers, your stabilising habits, and the people you can contact. It should also include professional support options and urgent steps to take if you feel unsafe. When distress rises, clear thinking can become harder. That is why you plan while you are calm. You remove confusion before it arrives. You give yourself a pathway back to safety, truth, support, and stability.
Today, write a simple safety plan. List three warning signs, three stabilising actions, and three trusted contacts. Keep it somewhere easy to find. Share it with someone safe if appropriate. Include urgent support details if risk increases. This is not fear. This is disciplined care. When you prepare wisely, you protect your peace, reduce panic, and strengthen your ability to respond early.

Reflection and Application
What warning signs should be in my safety plan?
What actions help me stabilise quickly?
Who can I contact when pressure rises?
What professional support should I include?
Where will I keep this plan?
