Day 5: Love Stays Humble
Love stays humble because pride cannot carry a healthy marriage. Humility helps husband and wife keep learning, adjusting, and serving without feeling reduced. A humble spouse does not need to dominate every conversation, win every disagreement, or prove superiority. Humility creates room for apology, correction, patience, and growth. Where humility is present, love becomes easier to trust.
Humility does not mean weakness or silence. It means strength submitted to love. It means you can admit when you are wrong, listen when your spouse speaks, and change when truth reveals a better way. Many marriage problems remain unresolved because one or both people refuse to bend. Pride hardens the heart, but humility keeps the heart teachable. A teachable heart can repair what pride would destroy.
Today, choose humility in one visible way. Ask your spouse where you can improve. Listen without defending yourself. Apologise where you have been wrong. Serve without needing praise. Let your spouse see that love matters more than your ego. Humble love builds safety because it says, “I am willing to grow for the health of us.” A marriage becomes stronger when both hearts stay low enough to learn and strong enough to change.

Father, teach us humble love. Remove pride, defensiveness, and stubbornness from our hearts. Help us listen, apologise, serve, and grow with grace. Let humility strengthen our marriage and make our love safer, deeper, and more faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
